Size 4 Specifications
Locked length approx. 14.30 mm; cap diameter approx. 5.31 mm; body diameter approx. 5.05 mm; typical dry-powder fill around 120–240 mg depending on density.
Capsule sizes from largest to smallest: 000 > 00 > 0 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5. Fill weights are approximate because powders vary greatly in density.
DRcaps® vs Standard HPMC Capsules
Both use plant-based HPMC, but DRcaps® use a shell formulation designed for delayed release. They are not the same as a conventional pharmaceutical enteric-coated dosage form, so we describe them as delayed-release capsules rather than promising a specific release location.
Common Uses
DRcaps® are commonly considered for compatible dry supplement formulations such as probiotics, digestive enzymes, botanical powders and odour-sensitive ingredients where delayed release is desired. Suitability depends on the ingredient and complete formulation.
